Would be cool if GOG always updated both, the main installer and the patch so people who have already downloaded the game don't have to redownload the whole package while first-time downloaders don't have to manually apply the update. Now I'm a bit annoyed by the fact that I always have to download two files and execute separate installers every time. At first I liked the fact that I don't have to redownload the whole game. Only game except Alan Wake where I have seen this so far is Painkiller which is quite surprising as the game is pretty darn old. I don't remember any kind of official announcement on this except maybe some comments by GOG staff on the forums but it seems GOG prefers this kind of update now, at least for bigger games. But I'm noticing this new procedure on other games as well. was there an official announcement on this policy that I obviously missed? It always used to be that we had to redownload the revised installer. ![]()
